Getting the word out!

Posted by on November 28, 2011

Today I conducted my first press conference as the Pirate Girl! Not new to this rodeo, admittedly, it still was a great feeling when all three local television stations (WBIR, WATE, WVLT), the daily newspaper (Knoxville News Sentinel), and the local news weekly (Shopper News) all came out to cover the event. I also was so glad to see that U.S. Congressman John J. Duncan, Jr. and three county commissioners — Brad Anders, Ed Shouse, and R. Larry Smith — were in attendance, in addition to many partners on the project from Knox County, HUD, THDA, and the design team. Follow up really DOES pay off! Thanks to Knox Housing Partnership for hiring Pirate Girl for this publicity need. Click here to see the WBIR story.
