Stars on Stage: Tennessee Legends featuring Loretta Lynn has been rescheduled

Due to the recent diagnosis of bacterial pneumonia, Loretta Lynn had to postpone her
upcoming concert dates for further rest. The November 3rd Tennessee Theatre date is
rescheduled for January 27, 2012.
In a statement, Lynn said, “The docs keep telling me I must take it easy to
recover.” This is going to be a fantastic event and we appreciate all ticket
holders' understanding and patience. All previously purchased tickets will be
honored for the January 27 date. Please call the Tennessee Theatre box office at
(865) 684-1200 ext 2 with further questions regarding tickets. Tickets to the
concert are still available and there's no better place to see a show than the
majestic Tennessee Theatre!

Be Careful Where You Recycle Electronics and Computers

Last Thursday WBIR interviewed Dan Thompson and John Homa on how to safely recycle your computers, peripherals, and gadgets. Both experts recommended Goodwill Industries-Knoxville‘s safe recycling partnership with Dell Reconnect. See the interview here and always remember to take computers and accessories to Goodwill, where you can be assured that any confidential or personal information on your hard drive will be responsibly removed. Even better – if you can’t take your used equipment to Goodwill, you can schedule a free pickup and they will come to you! And best of all: the Dell Reconnect project puts local people to work sorting and packing the items, allowing people who otherwise might have a barrier to employment to have the sense of accomplishment of earning their own living and contributing to our community and our local economy, and proceeds benefit Goodwill Industries.

Fellow Pirates Have Come Aship!

The duo behind the fantastic catering company Knoxville Catering & Special Events, Shawn and Marla Hines, seem to share the pirate love and are the newest clients aboard Pirate Girl’s ship. Native Knoxvillians (as long as you count Farragut and Powell as Knoxville – which I, of course, do), they are a classic marketing example of deciding what you want to be and then being that better than anyone else. They have a fascinating story and I am honored to be a part of the telling of it. Oh, and they have this really cool rock-n-roll catering business which is on the road right now providing delicious fare for Miranda Lambert. If you’re interested in learning more about our local caterer to the stars, visit http://www.knoxcatering.com/ today.
